Principal's Corner: End of the Year Message

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty & Staff,

As another year comes to a close; I pause to reflect upon the events of the school year and of the past four years. Sacred Heart Catholic School has undergone tremendous change during the past four years. Every change has come about with intense prayer and examination of conscience. These changes have come at a cost, financially, spiritually, and emotionally. Change is difficult . . . yet often necessary; we remain focused on academics and dedicated to spirituality.

None of these changes could have been accomplished without the dedication of our past and present advisory board members and their spouses. At this time I would like to thank Father Martinez, Mr. Terry Shannon, past board president, Mr. Ricardo Crisantes, current board president, Mr. Luke Bilow, board treasurer, Mr. Chuck Page, board secretary, Mr. Jesse Hernandez, Ms. Yinia Podesta, and Mr. J.B. Manson. These people have given countless hours of their time, extraordinary financial support, much needed emotional, and spiritual support. There are no words that can possibly express my gratitude for all of their assistance throughout the past four years.

During their tenure Sacred Heart Catholic School has accomplished myriad goals. This would not be possible without the support of the PTC which has also given innumerable hours and dedication to the continued growth of our school. I have often stated how unique the parents of this school are; they are amongst the most committed parents that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. My thanks go out to each and every one of you.

Sacred Heart has always had and continues to have a committed and devoted faculty and staff without whom the school would be nothing but a building. My sincere appreciation goes out to all of you.

Finally, I would also like to express my thoughts to and about the departing eighth grade class. This group of students is an extraordinary and eclectic group of young men and women, both collectively and individually. They are scholars, athletes, orators, engineers, musicians, mathematicians, comedians, and politicians. When I look at these students I have hope for our future. It is with a heavy heart that I bid you adieu. I feel certain that your futures are bright. I would remind you to carry the Holy Spirit and everything that you have learned at Sacred Heart in “Your” hearts; to be true to yourselves and to reach for the stars. May God guide your every step. Your departure leaves a void in our school and a hole in our hearts.

Sincerely,

Vanessa Rothstein
Principal
