Middle School Oratorical Contest participants are guided through the writing process, familiarized with different aspects of writing for public speaking, and present a 4-minute speech on a selected theme or topic. Speeches are judged on certain criteria by a panel of teachers, school administrators, and community leaders. The Middle School Oratorical Contest is aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and experience of public speaking before entering high school.

2017 Middle School Oratorical Contest Details

Who: All Middle School Challenge students and any 6 - 8th grade students who wish to participate

What: Write and present a 4 minute speech on this year's topic - "Catholic Apologists"

Where: Sheridan Hall

When: Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.

Prizes: 1st Place $150, 2nd Place $100, 3rd Place $75
